Mars in the Solar Forge

September 27–October 3, 2026

For the past several weeks, we have followed Venus through her mysteries of beauty, value, desire, and truth. But now another planet is stepping forward. Mars—the warrior, the protector, the fire of instinct, courage, and action—is making his way into the AstroScope.

And Mars does not move only through the heavens. He moves through the glandular system, speaking through the adrenals and awakening the body’s ancient responses to danger: fight, flight, freeze, and fear. As Mars changes position, what does his movement stir within your body? Is your warrior still obeying an old survival program—or is it ready to receive new instructions from the heart?

The Return of the Heart-Led Warrior

Every twenty-six months, Mars disappears behind the Sun.

From Earth, the planet of courage, action, instinct, desire, and will vanishes into the brilliance of the solar fire. Mars becomes invisible—not because it has stopped moving, but because it has entered a passage we cannot see.

This is Mars in the underworld.

The warrior has entered the forge.

Mars rules Aries, the warrior of the zodiac. It is also the ancient ruler of Scorpio, standing at the gate between survival, death, transformation, sexuality, and rebirth. Within the body, Mars speaks through the adrenal glands—the ancient guardians that prepare us to fight, flee, freeze, or survive.

Astrology is not merely a collection of personality traits. The planets are moving intelligences, and their movements mirror the initiations unfolding within us. When Mars disappears behind the Sun, something within the warrior disappears with it.

The familiar weapons no longer work.

The old battle plan can no longer be followed.

The commands go silent.

And in that silence, we are given an opportunity to discover what has actually been running us.

Is it courage—or fear disguised as courage?

Is it instinct—or an old wound preparing for another attack?

Is it conscious action—or a survival program repeating itself through the body?

When pressure comes, do you fight?

Do you flee?

Do you freeze?

Do you brace for danger before danger has even arrived?

These responses are not failures. They are ancient forms of intelligence that once protected us. But a program created for survival cannot be allowed to govern an entire life. When the warrior remains bound to an old battlefield, every relationship becomes a threat, every boundary becomes a weapon, and every decision is made in anticipation of what might go wrong.

Mars behind the Sun gives us a moment outside the battle.

In the solar forge, the warrior is stripped of its armor. The identities built around strength, protection, defense, and control begin to soften in the heat. We are invited to examine the programs beneath our actions and dismantle the ones that no longer belong to us.

Then Mars returns.

It emerges from the solar fire and becomes visible again in the morning light.

But this is not simply the return of the same warrior.

The question is:

Who is the warrior now?

What fuels its courage?

What directs its will?

What tells it when to move, when to protect, when to speak, and when to remain still?

Does Mars return carrying the same fear, rage, urgency, and inherited instructions? Or has the warrior remembered a deeper source of power?

The evolved warrior does not destroy its fire. It consecrates it.

It does not abandon instinct. It brings instinct into the Sacred Space of the Heart.

It does not become passive, weak, or afraid to act. It becomes precise. It learns that stillness is not surrender and that the heart is not fragile. The heart is the only place powerful enough to hold the fire of Mars without allowing that fire to become destruction.

This is the initiation now before us.

As we move more deeply into the ascension process and our passage through the photon belt, we are becoming a heart-centered society rather than a mind-led one. The mind has ruled through prediction, control, separation, and the endless manufacture of threats. It tells the warrior what to fear and then commands it to attack the very thing it has imagined.

But Mars cannot carry us into what comes next while taking its instructions from fear.

Our actions, desires, boundaries, passions, and will must learn to receive their direction from the heart.

The heart does not extinguish the warrior.

The heart gives the warrior something sacred to serve.

This is the new Mars—the warrior who can stand in the stillness of the heart, feel the fire moving through the body, and choose what that fire will become.

Not fight.

Not flight.

Not freeze.

Not fear.

But courage with consciousness. Action with purpose. Power with heart.

Mars has returned from the solar forge.

And now the warrior must decide how it will walk into the morning light.

The Crones Are Being Called Forward

There is another layer to Mars entering Leo—one that belongs especially to the crones and elders among us.

The North Node remained in Leo from June 1961 through December 1962. Those born beneath this placement came into this lifetime carrying a particular soul direction: to move out of the safety of the crowd, find the courage to become visible, and lead from the intelligence of the heart.

Many of these women are now entering their crone years.

They have lived through enough to know the difference between performance and presence. They have survived the battles that once consumed them. They have gathered decades of experience, instinct, discernment, loss, beauty, creation, and hard-won truth.

But many are still hiding.

They were taught to make themselves useful rather than powerful. To support rather than lead. To soften what they knew so others would not feel threatened. To remain agreeable, quiet, palatable, and safely behind the scenes.

But the crone was never meant to disappear.

She was meant to become dangerous to illusion.

She is the one who has lived long enough to recognize the pattern. She can see where it begins, where it leads, and what it will cost if no one interrupts it. Her wisdom does not come from theory. It has been carved into her through experience.

Now Mars—the warrior—is entering Leo, the kingdom of the heart, activating the very territory these Leo North Node women came here to embody.

This is not a call to dominate.

It is a call to take command.

Take command of your voice.

Take command of your wisdom.

Take command of the fire you have spent a lifetime learning how to carry.

The world does not need the crone to become louder simply for the sake of being heard. It needs her to become unmistakable. It needs her to stop asking permission to speak about what she has witnessed, what she has survived, and what she knows.

The collective North Node is now in Aquarius, while the South Node moves through Leo. We are being called toward a new vision of humanity—but we cannot build that future by discarding the heart. The mature gifts of Leo must be carried forward: courage, creative fire, sovereignty, generosity, and the willingness to stand visibly inside one’s truth.

What must be left behind is not Leo’s heart.

It is the distorted need for applause, performance, recognition, and power over others.

The crone does not step forward because she needs to be admired.

She steps forward because she is no longer willing to abandon what she knows.

Perhaps this is why the warrior had to pass through the solar forge before entering Leo. The old warrior sought permission from the mind. The renewed warrior receives direction from the heart.

And perhaps this is why the elders are being called now.

Not to repeat the battles of the past.

Not to seize the stage and become another authority demanding obedience.

But to stand in the stillness of the heart, gather the full force of their lived wisdom, and become an authority unto themselves.

The crone has spent long enough watching from the shadows.

Mars is entering the heart.

The warrior is returning.

And the elder women are being called forward.

The Earth Is Moving Through Us

The Earth has her own resonance—her own pulse, her own great cycles of release and renewal. She, too, is moving through an ascension process, burning away what can no longer travel with her.

And because we are made of soil and stars, her transition is moving through us.

She is us.

We are her.

There is no separation.

When we restore our energetic relationship with Mother Nature, we are doing far more than simply touching grass. The body contains living pathways that can extend deep into the Earth. The heart can pour its fire through those pathways, rooting us into the body of the Mother until her pulse and ours begin to remember one another.

As Mother Nature releases, shifts, and transforms, our bodies may feel as though they are moving through something unusual too. For me, this passage has coincided with six days of extraordinarily puffy eyes—a visible reminder to listen more closely to what the body is communicating.

We are not standing upon the Earth watching her transformation.

We are inside it.
